Autopot kit came with broken taps causing headache and hundreds in damage
Terrible experience. Autopot system came with no diagrams. In my contents bag there were two identical quick fittings for the tap which connects it to filter. Couldn't figure out why there was two because there was no information paper like you expect with a purchase requiring assembly. Tried one adapter which appeared to fit and did a trial run on the system. Noticed leaking, checked all fittings around tap/filter/hoses. Appeared the quick fit part was leaking so I switched that piece out for the 'spare' and never noticed any immediate leaking. What's strange about this system is that none of the threads screw in flush (on mine) which is always concerning when your dealing with 100L of water.. Fast forward a month or so and waking up to my dining room ceiling dripping water onto everything below. Nightmare! Inspecting fittings closer I can see that the plastic quick fit piece connected to tap has a break right at the base of it. It couldn't be seen until it is ******* in place and the treading causes it to expand. Since it was the weekend I couldn't contact customer support but I had remembered that there was the extra one... ******* that on (again, only hand tight) and noticed why I experience leaking the first time - also broken at base Contacted customer support, explained problem, was send a replacement part - wrong one Another call to the company and a new tap was sent out allowing me to use the system properly again. Hard to believe a $500 system gets sent out without a parts list and containing defective pieces. First point of contact was Andrew and he was pleasant to deal with but offered little consolation for my losses.. calling a second time for the same problem is never good Not sure who dropped the ball (autopot/indoorfarmer) but I'd likely steer others away from purchasing autopots based on my poor experience. **this is actually the second time I've received defective pieces for my autopot kit. roughly 3/10 flow valves leaked. Cut (wasted) new lines trying to determine if it was a 'me' problem - it wasn't
